The Renaissance church Santa Maria della Pace (dedicated to peace) is one of my favorite places in Rome. After you enter you see this beautiful fresco by Raphael on the right. It shows sybills and angels, including a lot of symbolism. For example, the putto in the center holds the flame of love which tinges one of the angel's wing red.
- Since imperial times, Romans have enjoyed a fashion for Egyptian motifs.
- Very delicately carved memorial for two sisters who died very young.
- Gilded angel
- St. Cecilia, painted by Lavinia Fontana, one of the famous female Renaissance artists
- Next to the church is Bramante's cloister which has a cafe upstairs.
Beautiful, peaceful moments of being together with friends
