Where Do YOU Enjoy Art the Most? - In your home? In a museum? In a gallery? In a more casual environment like a tasting room?
If your answer is Yes for the first and last venue then you’re in-luck and most likely you’ll enjoy the Mountain Art Quilters exhibition in the Lucchesi tasting room. It’s open NOW until November 29th. Many of the art quilts are for sale, so you can enjoy their beauty, originality, and tactile values at home. We’ll take the exhibition down on November 30th. Any art quilts that you bought will be available on that day.
Here is a little video from hanging the show. It was an interesting experience as curator to hang a group exhibition. I’m more used to planning an exhibition on my computer and come with a pretty strong plan. But not all artists could send their images up-front, so we had to reconsider the overall flow as we started working. Our self-imposed guidelines included to have strong, wide pieces at the end and then alternate sizes (smaller and larger) while creating an overall flow of color to increase the harmonious look.
Come and enjoy.
P.S. There is free parking behind the tasting room (S. Church St, Grass Valley).
